BAURU CERTIFICADOO famoso sanduíche inventado em São Paulo em 1934 ganhou selo de certificação do Comtur (Conselho Municipal de Turismo) de Bauru. Se a iguaria levar pão francês sem miolo, fatias de rosbife, de tomate e de pepino em conserva, além de queijo derretido em água, são boas as chances de que o sanduíche servido seja ´o tradicional´. As unidades do Ponto Chic em São Paulo, que vendem 75 mil baurus por ano, além de duas lanchonetes em Bauru, por enquanto, ganharam o selo. Auditores visitarão a cada 6 meses os locais para garantir fidelidade a receita original. No Iphan (Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional), está em andamento o pedido para registrar o sanduba como um ´bem imaterial´.

A partir de março de 2008 a linha C da CPTM (Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos), que liga Osasco a Jurubatuba, dá inicio a transformação que promete ser a estrela do transportes coletivos paulistanos. Serão a princípio 24,3 km de linha de trem de superfície com composições mais freqüentes e mais rápidas (a cada 5 minutos e a 50 km/h) que elevarão a qualidade dos trens aos níveis atuais do Metrô. O Governo do Estado pretende gastar até 2010 cerca de R$745 milhões no Metrô de superfície e mais R$355 até 2012, com projeção para dobrar o atendimento, hoje em 1.5 milhões de passageiros/dia.
