TURISMO DE SAÚDE

1.5% dos estrangeiros que vem a São Paulo são atraídos por serviços de saúde, a maioria na área de cirurgia plástica mas também para tratamento de doenças cardíacas, oncológicas e ortopédicas. Este mercado, que promete crescer nos próximos anos, ganha apoio da SP Turis (Orgão Oficial de Turismo de São Paulo) e do Sindicato dos Hospitais Paulistas (Sindhosp) com a publicação de um guia em inglês, espanhol e português com lista de hospitais, clinicas e spas da cidade.

As vantagens competitivas de São Paulo no mercado internacional do turismo de saude são o custo das intervenções, quase a metade do que se cobra nos EUA e Europa, a qualidade e humanização dos serviços, tidos como únicos no mundo. HEALTH TOURISM

1.5% of foreigners who come to Sao Paulo are attracted by the health services, the large majority in the areas of plastic surgery but there is also interest for cardiac, oncology and orthopedic diseases. This market that promises to grow in the coming years, gains support from SP Turis (Official Tourism Organization of Sao Paulo) of the Paulistan Hospitals Union (Sindhosp) with the publication of a guide in english, spanish, and portuguese that has a list of hospitals, clinics and city spas.

The competitive advantages of Sao Paulo in the international market of health tourism are the costs of interventions, which are half of what is charged in the US and Europe, the quality and humanity of the services, considered unique in the world. A cidade virou cenário para a produção do longa Ensaio sobre a Cegueira, de Fernando Meireles, orçado em US$20 milhões. O bairro de Higienópolis, a Marginal Pinheiros e o Centro receberam a equipe de filmagem e o elenco, encabeçado pela estrela hollywoodiana Juliane Moore e literalmente pararam o transito. FILMING SET

The city turned into the setting for the Fernando Meireles movie ‘Ensaio sobre a Cegueira’, budgetted in US$20 million. The Higienópolis neighborhood, Marginal Pinheiros, and the City Center received the filming team and cast, headed by the hollywood star Juliane Moore and literally stopped traffic. . O Museu de Arte de São Paulo faz 60 anos e muda o modo de expor o seu acervo, o mais importante da América Latina, avaliado em US$1 bilhão e um dos pontos de referencia da cidade. . Avança o projeto de reforma do edifício hoje ocupado pelo Detran, parte do conjunto arquitetônico do Parque do Ibirapuera, para dar lugar a nova sede do Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo (MAC-USP). Assinadas por Oscar Niemayer, 99, tanto o projeto do edifício dos anos 1950 como a atual reforma, as obras orçadas em R$30 milhões incluirão a adequação do edifício ao novo uso, um anexo para obras de grande porte e uma passarela com jardim suspenso ligando o MAC ao Pavilhão da Bienal. . O Museu de Arte Moderna Nipo-Brasileria Manabu Mabe está previsto para abrir as portas em 2008, em comemoração ao centenário da imigração japonesa. . The Museum of Art of Sao Paulo comemorates 60 years and changes its way of displaying its collection, the most important in Latin America, valued at US$1 billion and one of the reference points of the city. Traditionally exposed based on chronological or geographic criteria, the collection gains thematic samples with the curation of José Teixeira Coelho, the first already on show -Art of Myth – and the others planned to happen until May 2008: Nature of Things, To See and be Seen and Religious Art. Moves on well the reform project for the building today occuppied by the Detran, part of the architectural group of Ibirapuera Park, to give place to the new headquarters of Contemporary Art Museum of the University of Sao Paulo (MAC-USP). Signed by Oscar Niemayer, 99, both the building project of the years 1950 as the actual reform, the works estimated to cost R$30 million will include the adaptation of the building to the new use, an annex for works of great scale and a suspended pathway with garden connecting the MAC to the Biennial Pavillion. The Modern Art Museum of Nipo-Brasileria Manabu Mabe is previewed to open doors in 2008, to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the japanese immigration. With works of Mabe, Tomie Ohtake, Flavio Shiró, amongst others, the Museum will occuppy the building of the old Colégio Campos Sales, in the asian neighborhood of Liberdade.(source: OESP 30/9/07)

Arthur de Mattos Casas, autor de projetos como o do Hotel Emiliano na Rua Oscar Freire, lança mapa ilustrado com os destaques da arquitetura paulistana em seu livro São Paulo na Arquitetura de Arthur Casas (Editora Decor, 208 páginas, R$96). Entre os destaques arquitetônicos da cidade que segundo o autor encanta pela diversidade e por estilos que só existem aqui, aparece a FAUUSP (Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade de São Paulo) de VilaNova Artigas, o MUBE (Museu Brasileiro da Escultura) de Paulo Mendes da Rocha, o MASP (Museu de Arte de São Paulo) e o SESC Pompéia de Lina BoBardi, entre outros. Arthur de Mattos Casas, author of projects such as Hotel Emiliano on Rua Oscar Freire, launches an illustrated map with the paulistan architectural highlights in his book Sao Paulo in the Architecture of Arthur Casas (Editor Decor, 208 pages, R$96). Amongst the city’s architectural highlights that according to the author enchant for the diversity and styles that exist only here, appears FAUUSP (Department of Architecture and Urbanism of University of Sao Paulo) of VilaNova Artigas, MUBE (Brasilian Sculpture Museum) of Paulo Mendes da Rocha, MASP (Art Museum of Sao Paulo) and SESC Pompéia of Lina BoBardi, amongst others. CAMPEONATO DE PASTEL

Gilberto Dimenstein relata em sua coluna na Folha de São Paulo a iniciativa do chef de cozinha Allan Vila Espejo, do Restaurante La Pepa em Moema, para integrar a feira livre que acontece na porta do seu restaurante aos domingos com atratividade contínua de clientes. Espejo criou um campeonato para escolha do melhor pastel da cidade, julgado por 12 chefes de cozinha em tres categorias: queijo, carne e palmito. A próxima disputa acontecerá nos Jardins, terá Alex Atala como coordenador e faz parte das eliminatórias para que no final, vença o melhor. (fonte: FSP 3/10/07)

‘PASTEL’ CHAMPIONSHIP

Gilberto Dimenstein tells in his Folha de Sao Paulo column the chef Allan Vila Espejo’s initiative, of the Restaurant La Pepa in Moema, to integrate the open air fair that happens at the door of his restaurant on sundays with continuous attractions for his clients. Espejo created a championship to choose the best ‘pastel’ of the city, judged by 12 chefs in three categories: cheese, meat and heart of palm. The next dispute will happen in Jardins, and will have Alex Atala as coordinator and is part of the semifinals for the final, where the best will win. (source: FSP 3/10/07)
